Plans for 2019

Dec 30, 2018 | Web design

As 2018 comes to a close I find that it’s a great time to reflect on everything that has happened over the past twelve months, and focus in on new goals and changes for the New Year. I recently read a quote that has been resonating with me as of late.

“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.”

– Greg Reid

Nothing could be more true in business or in your personal life. Whether you are looking to lose a few pounds or sell 10 million widgets, without a plan, you’re opening yourself up to all sorts of setbacks and failures. And when you’re doing your planning, I believe that it’s equally important to plan for those setbacks and to account for the unexpected. When we at Digital Tea sit down to analyze a client’s needs and formulate our plan for building you a great website, or other amazing digital product, we take all of that into account, and we have contingency plans ready should they arise. And to be honest, sometimes contingency plans for the contingency plans if the project is quite large and has a lot of moving parts.

Now, this is not unlike a diet that you might be planning on starting. A New Year, A new You! right? While your getting started with this “new you”, you’ll probably want to plan for a couple of cheat days or perhaps that new restaurant isn’t as Keto Diet-friendly as you heard from your friend Geoff. And you show up after having made reservations and everything and then when you excitedly, finally arrive, there’s nothing to eat and all you can think about is dialling Geoff up and calling him a LIAR to his stupid Carbohydrate filled face!… *deep breath* I’m not angry I swear. Lol. I digress…

All you really need to do is roll with the punches because you have a fallback plan.

Make a few small changes and compromises and viola. Crisis averted. Now you can wake up tomorrow morning and get back to your plan. Back on track to reach your goals.

This year at Digital Tea we are planning for growth. We’ll be looking to add to our team by bringing at least 2 more people on board with an assortment of various skills and assets that complement our existing team and to provide new and exciting services for our customers. We’re also planning some other really cool things that I can’t get into here. But trust me, they’re edge of the seat, nail-biting exciting, and we look forward to sharing the news when we can.

Until then, I’ll leave you with this. 2019 is going to be a rocky road for a lot of companies, individuals and families. So set realistic accomplishable goals, make a solid plan (with contingencies) and start putting your plan into action ASAP.

You can thank me later. 😉
